University for the Creative Arts (UCA) and EKC Canterbury College have formalised their partnership after signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This agreement reinforces the organisations’ shared commitment to delivering high-quality training, learning, and employment opportunities for students across Kent.

UCA Canterbury campus, which focuses on architecture, spatial and computer design, fine art and visual communications, is located next door to EKC Canterbury College. UCA Acting Vice-Chancellor Melanie Gray said that signing the MoU marks the start of a very exciting collaboration.

“It’s an amazing collaboration with such a great partner, I think what everyone does at EKC Group is incredible,” Professor Gray said.

“We are all about education, community and working together for staff and students. Coming together like this, in terms of this Memorandum of Understanding, is a big step forward in that relationship.”

The Acting Vice-Chancellor continued: “We are hoping that in terms of our student communities, we can offer a wealth of experience that we can share across both the University and EKC Group to enrich the student learning experience, the student experience overall, and their thinking about a career beyond education.

“For our staff and the broader community, we can learn from each other and be part of an ecosystem that offers lots of opportunities to enrich everyone from pedagogy and teaching to academia.

“As we move forward, I’m certain we can go from strength to strength with the wider EKC Group community.”
